“Alexandre Joly y Atelier B se imaginan el bosque en un espejo”

In the Atelier B framing workshop, the concept of framing art remains the same as it was born with the manufacture of altarpieces carved in wood, stuccoed, gilded and prepared to receive the images that illustrated passages from the Bible. The frame is a window that presents, delimits and protects the image inside, but it is born with and forms part of the work.

Alexandre Joly has used blown glass from the French manufacture of St. Just to create a dark mirror which in turn frames a moon backlit with a print of ferns. When passing in front of it, the glass of the moon changes colour and reflects the viewer so subtly that it is difficult to distinguish the outside world from the inside. The exercise seeks to bring together ancient decorative and artistic disciplines with contemporary techniques, allowing the creation of astonishing objects that show the great quality and beauty of the material.
